We create these technologies because they improve the quality of life for (hopefully) all of us.

If you want to deal with the ‘over population’ problem, you want higher technology. Most of the pop growth happens in undeveloped countries where they have lots of children because they need the manpower and have high mortality rates. We don’t quite need that, so we don’t have too many children. Tech like this reduces the mortality rates too.

So guess what, this actually does help your problem.

Cancer is Big …
Cancer is Big Business, Cures are not really sought after, treatment is what fuels the big dollars. Cancer can be made curable, but where is the money in that?

At least let people smoke marijuana if they so desire, no one has ever died of marijuana overdose, really not possible, aspirin overdose kills more people in the US than any other over counter drug. Go figure.

Actually, clinic trials are about to start and the amount of research and funding that is going into nanotechnology is increasing daily. It isn’t just talk, but you have to keep in mind that stuff like this doesn’t happen overnight.
